Bernalillo County Control Points, generated as a product of the 1996 orthophotography delivery contracted through Clint Sherrill Associates (CSA). The BC_CNTRL coverage is compilation of the best available conventional and GPS_surveyed monument coordinates of several sources. Source agencies include Clint Sherrill Assoc. (CSA), the National Geodetic Survey, the City ofAlbuquerque, and agencies surveying the Kirtland Air Force Base.
- Purpose:
-
Used in the Cogo process for incorporating platted parcels into land parcel database. The BC_CNTRL coverage is the control for the Bernalillo County Zone Atlas coverage, the Public Land Survey System Grid and all other derived land use coverages generated by CSA. The features of coverage provide the following: Coordinates in both geodetic and state plane reference systems saving calculation time; elevation information including height above mean sea level, GPS height, height difference between datums; order of accuracy and confidence indicators for monument locations where available; comparison of coordinates from source agencies as an additional check on coodinate accuracy; source agency identifiers so that users may follow up on coordinates and to-reach descriptions from the source; complete descriptions of the monument and its commonly known name, setting, condition, stamp and date of recovery where available; and projection parameter including scale factor, ground to grid factor and convergence.
